Along the Way: honesty

caressedionne:

I’m not one to tell all my personal business via social media. At least not in my moments of despair (I often wait til I’m delivered or at least hopeful). It can seem desperate —although I too have fallen victim to subliminal message syndrome. But if I’m honest, I think some of my refrain comes…

Thought about this only a few days ago.

spiritualinspiration:

“I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh” (Ezekiel 36:26, NIV)
In life, we all have negative things happen to us. We go through situations that are unfair. I know people who were raised in an unhealthy environment. Their parents had issues, and now it’s making it much more difficult on them.
But here is what I’ve learned: when you accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, He gives you a new heart. In other words, your blood line changes. No longer are you subject to your earthly heritage, you become subject to your heavenly heritage! His spiritual blessing always overrides the curse in the natural realm. When you understand who you are and what God has already done, then no matter what someone else has done, no matter how unfair it was, no matter how you were raised, you won’t get bitter. You won’t live with a chip on your shoulder. You realize that nothing can stop you from fulfilling your God-given destiny!
Today, remember you came from Almighty God. He gave you life. When you choose Him, you are choosing your heavenly heritage of blessing and eternal, abundant life! A Prayer for Today
God in heaven, thank You for sending Your Son, Jesus so that I may be saved. Today I surrender every area of my life to You. Have Your way in me; let Your will be done in my life. Thank You for making me new in Jesus’ name. Amen.

A Prayer for Renewal

churchjanitor:

Lord,

I humble myself before you.  I once again surrender myself to you.  It seems that I tend to forget that all I need is found in your love and I am ashamed I seek it elsewhere.  I know that grace is meant to be redeem all of me, beyond forgiving me of my sins.  I look to you.  I desire you.  I want your grace to alter the fabric of my existence, rather than being a varnish on my life.  Let me shine your light.

Amen

As you go into the world this weekend, let this be your declaration, I am not afraid because I am His.
Greet everyone by saying “Hi! my name is _______ & I am the child of the King”

hope-movement:

When my wings are tired and worn, and I am exhausted from flight- from fighting against the winds and the difficulties of life; You call to me.. You welcome me back home, to the place where I belong- into your arms, open and waiting for me. Though my journeys often cause me to stumble, trip, fail and fall- You replenish me, revive me and refresh me every time I seek You out. You fulfil my hunger, and quench my thirst- You mend my wings, and coat me with Your grace. I rest in You and I am restored. You prepare me every evening and every morning- and send me out into the world with Your blessing, surrounded by Your love. I am filled to overflowing, and fly in the strength of Your provision. How blessed I am that you tend to my emptiness, my brokenness and my shame. You tend to my weak and mild body- and remind me every morning, that Your mercies are new, and I am precious in Your sights. Thank You Lord, that You are forever holding me near.

hope-movement:

From the inside out Lord, consume me. So deeply, so heavily and so passionately- that when those who are searching for You break me apart and tear me to pieces; they’ll surely find You. Saturate me Lord, so much so, that they would see me bare and laying there- and scan me down, from head to toe in wonder. They’ll pull at me, and flesh by flesh they’ll see- bone by bone, they’ll pick apart, knowing these bodily things inside of me are only masking what is hidden within me.. And as they are searching for the truth of my heart, for the way that I work, and pondering the way that I move and breathe- they will finally press through to the core of my being- my heart… There, they will see, find and know, that it was You all along. Your word, Your promise, Your sacrifice, Your presence, Your love, Your grace, Your truth and Your saturation that shone brighter than the sun. Envelope me, Lord, so they would see, that aside from flesh and bone- that there is nothing good in me, but You.

Before Jesus ever suggested, “Go and sin no more,” He first welcomed, loved, spent time with and truly received unrepentant sinners, the men and women around him, He took them at face value, without any form of judgement. Those who were comfortable and willing to remain in the life they were living, Jesus cared for them. But though we profess to love like He loves; we often put our energy, time, effort and heart into changing the behaviour of others, rather than introducing them to His astounding grace, acceptance and love. Jesus never said a pre-requisite to receiving love was to be sinless, spotless, blameless and perfect. No. In fact, He loved generously and without hesitation; unconditionally. He desires to minister not only to you, but through you - it’s time to drop the judgemental hypocrisy and our ranking of sins and lifestyles, and start loving… Really loving.
